Transplanting
Hi to all-
Well, I've got 100% germination of 5 out of 5 seeds using my lizard
terrarium set-up. My earliest plant sprouted at 5 days and the last took
almost 12 days, but it did finally come up. 2-991 Hunt, 2-687 Hunt and 1-685
Mettler. I put 2-861 Wilsons on top of the refer with no results at all. My
question is this; even with intense lighting my plants have grown really tall
and leggy w/stalks about 6-8" tall. Should I bury the stalks up to the leaves
when I put them in the garden or just cover the peat pot & hope they don't
break or fall over. I've heard that by burying too much of the stalk could
choke it off and kill it; on the other hand, I don't want to risk it being
too tall and breaking off. This happened last year, but I did have success w/
one plant. Any advice would be appreciated. This is my 2nd year w/ AGs,
although I have had years of experience w/veggie gardening, this pumpkin
stuff gets awfully complicated at times. Sometime I think I'll just throw out
a handful of seeds, say a prayer over them & see what happens:) !! Bye for
now-Rebecca Steward Martinez, CA
