I live in Tustin (in Orange County) and I have three Hibiscus that the
whiteflies love. Neem oil works when applied frequently. I suggest neem
oil once a month and strong blasts with a hose the rest of the month while
watering.
To your point: I have had no whitefly interest in my garden (2 years of
planting) -- and that includes pumpkins, zucchini, watermelon, and muskmelon
to name a few. Perhaps the undersides of the pumpkin leaves just aren't as
moist and juicy as the hibiscus?
This is my first message on this forum. I've just started some seeds in
seed starting medium.
