okay, here's a new one on me, looked at a seedling yesterday, and it appeared
that the stem on it was splitting vertically. i thought, gee that's weird, and
applied some fungicide powder just in case. i figured that maybe it was just
stress from growing, since it was really motoring along. well, this morning, i
get up, look at my seedling, and the thing had totally split, from ground, to
where the true leaves are. i can stick my finger in the middle of the stalk.
anyone ever see this before? what causes this.? i'm thinking that maybe when i
transplanted it, the stem was on the long side, and i buried it some, maybe it
couldnt' expand below the surface of the soil, and that's what caused the split?
starting all over tonight, still have 141 days to go to the weighoff, plenty of
time....
