Re: Dead pumpkin!

Okay,

First year pumpkin grower here.....learning.

The first potential pumpkin I had this year has died before I even had the
chance to pollinate it.

Actually, it is just kinda withering away.....assuming it is dead. This was
the only pumpkin appearing on my younger plant. Meanwhile I now have six
potential pumpkins on my older plant.

The younger plant is growing vigorously while the older plant is just kinda
puttering along. I call myself fertilizing at the same rate, but I have
fertilized both more heavily with nitrogen lately.

Is this "normal" or any thoughts on what I have done to cause this. Do I
need to do/stop doing something to prevent it from happening again with
other pumpkins? Help!
