Re: Solar Water Heating

Why not just get a lot of hose and run it over your roof and back a couple of times from the tank you have ....I don't have the problem you are talking about so no just a thought.

Subject: Solar Water Heating

I am interested in building a simple solar water heater to allow me to raise the water temperature before watering my pumpkins. I have a 100 gallon stock tank which so far has been able to increase the temperature from the well temperature of 50 degrees to 60 or so. I would like to increase this to 80 degrees when and if the sun ever comes out. I am looking for a simple convection type unit which could be made from plastic pipe.

Does anyone have information about simple solar heating designs. I am thinking the sun will be out by July up here in Washington, so I have plenty of time to fabricate a system.

Thank You,
