pollinator plants

list, we have a small patch, planning on 2 plants each allotted 25' x 30'.... can we plant pollinator plants in less than desirable conditions elsewhere in the yard and still get viable male flowers at the right time... we have some great seeds that could provide great crosses but don't want to crowd the main patch.  Any opinions would be appreciated, and thanks to all of you for the seeds.
