List
Well I am in a deep world of trouble. As I said a few days ago on the list I
didn't do a soil test due to the two different types of soil that were used
in the garden. The planting mounds are 5x5x3 feet deep and consist of manure,
compost, kelp and zoo doo. The rest of the garden is heavily fortified with
compost, manure and kelp.
Here is my problem. I used a home test kit for pH and this is my outcome.
pH in the garden is approximately a 6.8 pH a little acidic but fine in my
opinion. The soil in the mounds comes up to approximately a 6.0 too acidic in
my opinion.
I KNOW I KNOW THESE THINGS AREN'T THE MOST ACCURATE THINGS IN THE WORLD
BUT ITS ALL I GOT!!!!!
So please can you help me I don't have the physical strength to dig all the
mounds up and replace the soil nor do I have the time. Is there anything I
can add to at least bring up the pH a little at least to get me back on line
for the season.
A couple of days ago my neighbor dropped off a bag of lime powder it says
"TYPE S, LIME MADE BY CHEMSTAR" he uses it for adding to concrete but I am
not sure if I should add it to my mounds to counteract the acidity.
I would really appriciate "ANY" reply as I only have a week left ........
Thank you so very much !!!!!
