Why you pick your seeds
Kevin,
Having room for only two, one of which was certain to be the 954
Barenchi because Ray offered to start it for me in his greenhouse, I
leaped at the chance to grow the 815 Andersen 97. This way I'll be
growing one each from the 2 California growers tied for 2nd place in our
state's pumpkin-growing history. For back-up, I seriously used Deb
Rieman's system of picking a name at random. It didn't hurt a bit that
the random process produced the 896 Wells.
The only clue I have to how the cute lil scouts chose the 500 Reynolds
(801 Stelts x 835 McIntyre) and the 356 Wells was that line in TJ's
grower's journal: I like the Stelts.
