Fellow Pumpkinheads,
After a looooooong winter and a near season ending
ordeal, I am happy to say the Titanic sails again! A back injury had me
sidelined for nearly 2 mos. and I feared I would have to mothball the season
before it ever started. I am growing in my back yard as well as a new site this
year. unfortunately, I had little time to do much soil ammending to the new site
because of the injury, but I have 5 plants up and running and the race is
on. This years crew is as follows:
Remote site
1026 Holland '00 leaves
suffered
940 Mombert '00 some
hail
934 Mombert '00 damage
5/25
Back Yard
896 Barenie '00
837 LaRue '00
All plants were in the ground by 5/18 and are just
starting to vine. What we really need here in northern IL is some heat temps
have been in the 50s and 60s the past 2 weeks. That's all for now. Good
luck to all!
