Hi..I have a question on fertilizing your giant pumpkins slated for competition. In Joel Hollands most recent Video he says to add at preplant:
25lbs of 16-16-16.....................per 1000sqFt
20lbs of 0-45-0.........................per 1000sqFt
8 lbs of Calcium Nitrate.............per plant
8 lbs of 14-14-14 osmocote........per site
plus another 1/2cup or so in plant hole of 16-16-16
This seems excessive to me, but then again I only get 500lbers...and he gets 1000 plus.....what do you think? Is this about right? or is this due to a post-winter leached PNW soil? My soil tests say Ive got lots of NPK in and available.....what should I do? I wanna grow big ones like Joel...just maybe a different color..........G
