Jay,
Connecticut! You're practically up there in Big Pumpkin land. Your
ground must have thawed. We Californians get such a kick out of even
thinking about snow and ice.
My seedlings went into the ground here on May 6. Early, I think, but
this year Mr Ray Barenchi is guiding me through the process since he
does not plan to grow much longer. He's about 80, and he tied for 2nd
place in CA with a 977-pounder in 2000. He's passing along his
experience and what he has learned from telephone calls to Howard Dill,
from whom he always bought his seeds until this year, when I gave him
his pick of my entire inventory. He started my seeds this year, so what
could I do but put them in the ground. Five or 6 leaves on each, and
they're lovely plants.
Where do you get that ProMix?
Thanks for the tips.
Kathie
