Thus since the only way you can Really win is to
use your own plant then I would say there is but one choice, use your
plant(s).
Remember it is not who has the biggest plant in
May, but who has the biggest pumpkin in October. There is strong evidence that
any plant that has grown too big in a pot has no advantage over a smaller plant
that is put out at the correct time. I would mention to Dad about letting a
plant get too big in a pot and offer him one of your plants so he "isn't working
from a disadvantage". (Nothing like a little "mind game" move to keep the
competition interesting.)
