Slow germs

An interesting thing that happens kind of often is the root ball or club
foot. You would only know you have it if you do the paper towel or rag
method in the zip lock where the roots are exposed in the early stage. They
take longer to germ.and are slow. After a few observations it seems the tap
root is hindered somehow. Is it because the pilot hole is clogged? Or
perhaps how the seeds were handled at drying time. Is it genetic
quirk?.... . Or is it physical . Is it a mold that starts then gets too
dry...... Do the ones that use the advanced seed method ever see it? Or the
ones that break the tip of the seed off?

Anyways they are slow and most would discard as a weakling.........but time
and again I have thrown them in and they take longer and then pull out and
sometimes move ahead of the rest of the pack. Perhaps this is what growers
have mentioned before when they claimed that it was the slowest in the patch
and then just took off and became he leader

I guess the best medicine in AG growing is patience.........MB
