They're all yellow-orange on the inside. doesn't that count?
Go with the weight in contests and have a separate contest for show. If you
wan't to grow shapely, orange, decorative pumpkins grow them for show or a
pumpkin beauty contest!
Sorry, the heaviest pumpkin is a winner.
At least that's what the big boys say.
Be Well.....

What ruling did they make
??? I believe Jim may have had the right answer,
MEMBERS or Change of Directors.
Just the view looking in from outside.
If you pay the same. You have the same say. Al it's not that big of a deal
with
the internet. Get it done, as they say use it or lose it.

Have they made a ruling
about the color rule ?(doubt it ) How does everybody feel about this
issue? This is about pumpkins, this is a pumpkin
news group. No whining this fall if you dont support in the effort to
clarify, rules. More judges don't help that just means more people to
disagree ! Thanks ,Bruce b*@prodigy.net

- Subject: GPC Color Rule - POLL
- Group,
- The GPC
will be making a color ruling later this week. What I would like
from you ladies and gentlemen is an informal poll on which option you
prefer most when it comes to the determination of a pumpkin. Below I
have listed 4 option I know that are being considered by the GPC.
Please Email me directly with your answers. DO NOT EMAIL YOUR
ANSWERS TO THE PUMPKINS@HORT.NET LIST. My email is
Brad2julie@aol.com. Please keep this simple by choosing from the
options below. This informal poll will conclude Thursday night May
16. I will call the results of the poll into Hugh Wiberg
myself. This is your chance to be heard. SO VOTE!
- Thank you,

- How do you feel the GPC should classify a pumpkin?
- A.) All pumpkins and squash should be in one class. Heaviest one
wins.
- B.) Anything that is all green is a squash. Everything else is a
pumpkin.
- C.) Keep the rule as it is. 75% white to cream to orange is a pumpkin.
25% or more gray to green is a squash.
- D.) Rib Base Color - Using this method, a pumpkin is determined by
looking at the creases or ribs of a pumpkin. In other words you
would look under the netting a pumpkin may have to determine its base
color.
