I tried that for my tomatoes six years ago and Yes it worked but it had
Inherent problems. One was it was hard to get the sheets to stay down I used bent
pieces of coat hanger and sticks. The other thing is once it got wet it Bonded
with the soil and then the weed seeds just germinated right through it! I
have tried many types of weed blocks and have used TONS of straw all has its up
and down sides best thing I have found is that I am doing this year I have my
Hula hoe/Scuffle hoe and every three days I go out there and scuffle all the
young weeds. yeah i know it is hard and takes an extensive matrix of walking
boards but I have 2000 sqft at home and about 5000+ sqft that I share at the
satellite patch if you can keep up with it, it really works well !!
