Although I've grown a large family garden for years, this is my first attempt
at a giant pumpkin. I bought a commercial package of Dill's Atlantic Giant and
I was also lucky enough (and very excited) to receive from a teacher friend a
pumpkin seed as a gift. #767 Larue, F845 Bobier, M:Open. I filed the edges of
the Larue/Bobier seed and then used the damp paper towel/plastic bag method to
start germinating all the seeds. I started germinating on 04/30/06. The Dill
seed is germinating well but the Larue/Bobier seed is not. I was hoping to use
that seed to cross with the Dill. Am I being impatient? Is the seed a dud? Any
help or suggestions?
