Re: Cold weather

Ben
they will fine when things warm up and they are better off for being in the patch rather than in a pot inside. Protection from wind damage is the bigger problem now. My plants are outside in houses and not growing either but they will. not to worry. my best to you and your wife...Bart

Would love some opinions.
My wife is due next weekend, which is the traditional planting time in western new york, yes, poor planning. Anyway, the early part of May was rather warm, so I decided to hope for the best and plant my pumpkins earlier than I have in past years. Then, it turned colder. The temps have been in the low 60''s during the day, and low 50's at night. I have kept it covered as best I could, but during the days when I was at work, I had to leave it uncovered, fearing overheating and such. I have managed to keep the soil temp in the 60's.
Anyway, my question is this, it was about 3 weeks old when I planted, and it has grown...but slowly. It is going to be finally back into the 70's this week. Will it begin to grow when the warm weather hits, or will it take a while to bounce back from my torturing it? I have other plants going under lights inside, so I could just replant.
Thanks.
Ben
