Double Stem

This year I jumped the gun. My plants are getting huge.
They have been
growing since late April. Last year I was late. Oh well.
My concern is that one plant started crawaling with the
signature 2 inch across, main vine stem. After about 15 inches of growth
it split into two vines. I
did not prune it and it was not damaged.
Does this happen occasionally? Is this normal? What should I expect?.Any
action
I should take?
The plant is very healthy. We had record heat here in
Santa Rosa, CA
3 days in a row last week and boy did my 3 plants take off( a little
heat strees though). 101, 98 & 97 degrees.
