You could never have roots too soon, they are the most important part of the
plant right now. Definitely don't cut them off (how well could you walk if I
cut off one of your legs??). That's the problem with 4" pots they are too
small for AG's. I would put it in the ground if I were you. Did you poke a
million holes around the side of the pot before starting the seed (it may be
risky to poke the holes now- could damage roots)? I tried the peat pots
before and many roots never got out, they just kept circling the pot.
