Re: double vine good or bad-reply

Brock:

Just went through the flat vine syndrome with my Eaton 739. I watched this
vine go flat about 8 ft from the stump......it was not getting better, but
flatter and wider as it grew...I let it grow about 5 ft, then made the
decision to whack the end off and bury it. This was the best decision, as the
plant immediately sprouted new vines that were normal and healthy.

In fact, this plant is one of the largest in the field. Very bushy and
vigorous.

Flat vines, as you will notice tend to sprout many female flowers and leaves
in small clusters. The vine looks abnormal, and Jurassic.

I had another plant send out a flat vine, but it split off into two, and
corrected itself.

Good luck and remember a flat vine doesn't always mean the end.
