S. Manitoba Update

Just thought I'd let everyone know how things were going in southern
Manitoba this spring. I do not contribute to this list very often, but do
enjoy reading what people have to say. This time last year my area had just
barely recovered from what was termed the flood of the century. This was
combined with the coldest spring in 25 years. What a difference a year can
make....at least until today. This spring has been great. My plants are in
and doing fine, I have added a Davis Weather Monitor II to my arsenal of
equipment, and things were going great...until, today the weather has
turned. Up until now it has been around 20 to 30 C during the day and 8 to
15 C at night, this since late April. Tonight we are expecting temps to be
around 0 C. Scary thing is, this will be one of the warmest nights for the
next 2-4 days. On the bright side, I did have warning so the pumpkins do
have small greenhouses in place, but still, sometimes it seems you just
can't win.

Hey, at least I don't have to worry about vine borers.
