Seed Starting via Saturn

My wife has been giving me the business about starting my pumpkin plants
in the house, so I decided to get a little creative. I filed the round edge
until I exposed the interior of the seed, I then planted in 4" peat pots.
Watered in the pots. I did not soak the seeds.

I then placed the seeds in the back of our Saturn wagon. The perfect
mobile greenhouse!! I brought the seeds in at night when it got cold. I
planted on Tuesday evening, and all seeds had broken the surface by Friday.
This seemed effective because our temperatures have been 55 to 65 degrees
through last Thursday and the interior of the car seemed to warm to about 85
to 90 degrees. Yesterday, Friday, it was 70. It seemed to be less trouble
than the towel method or the heating pads, etc. I personally will not use
paper towels to start a seed. If it is not vigorous enough to push through
1" of soft potting soil, then it is not a good candidate to grow as far as I
am concerned.

Anyway, I digress to another subject. I thought you all might be
interested in the "Saturn Seed Starting Method."
