New Pumpkin sponsors for The GPC and Topsfield

New England and GPC Growers,
Two new sponsors have come on board for the 1999 season. Jack's Classic
Fertilizer has teamed up with the GPC and now has roughly $14,000 in prizes
for the upcoming season. Apx. 9,500 for pumpkins, 1,750 for squash, and to
help the Southern sites......900 for watermellon, $900 for tomato and $900
for cantaloupe. The exact breakdown of prizes will be available from your
site coordinator. No come on rebels!!!!! Don't let those yankees take any of
that prize money for the warm weather crops.
Topsfield Fair and Coca-Cola are in search of New England's first 1,000
pounder. The potential purse at Topsfield this year will be $14,000. The
regular purse is still in place, plus a new prize of $250 for 50th place.
$100 for prettiest, $100 for the ugliest (asthetically challenged). If
someone in New England should be lucky enough to pop a thousand pounder, the
regular $3,500 dollar prize will be boosted to $10,000. Topsfield won the GPC
top 10 average last year with over 820 pounds average. Although they had alot
of 800 and 900 pounders, no one has popped a thousand yet. The money is on
the table.......come on you Swamp Yankees! Lets get growing!!!!!!
