As first time grower, do not know your problem or whether there is
one, but it sounds a bit like some plants I started. I let it go not
knowing whether something was wrong. A week later the plants were
slightly yellowish and it is clear they needed nitrogen. Unable to find
my container of soluble 20-20-20 I used another and they were lying flat
and died 12 hours later.
I have 12 years experience using soluble 20-20-20 (any brand) and my
results are in agreement with other local greenhouse operators.
One-half gram per gallon of water is not quite enough but keeps plants
alive when you don't want growth.
4 grams per gallon of water is the recommended rate but is probably a
little too much.
Two grams per gallon is my favorite for plants where I want all the
vines I can get. These rates are for using fertilizer in every watering.
