Fingers Crossed

Today I put 2 plants in the ground. They had sprouted on April 20 in my milk
jugs and look to be in good shape. I planted 1 each of some plants I started
from seeds I received frpm Wayne KENNEDY and John FALLOR. I have another 1/2
dozen sitting as backups. Some are destined to go to my daughter's yard in
CAZENOVIA, NY.
There were deer in my yard at 6 a.m. today. I hope they don't have a
fondness for pumpkins. I also remembered that my back yard often has high
winds. I had a PrizeWinner Hybrid plant tossed around last year by high
wind. This is my first year for AG's. I am not greedy!
Anything over a couple of hundred pounds would be a delight for this first
attempt. Is there such a thing as beginner's luck?
We had an icy frost on our picnic table last Wednesday although the air never
got below 40F. It was due to radiation cooling to a clear sky.
The weather has been warm and sunny but we need rain. The lawn is starting to
turn yellow in spots. Good luck to all!
