Mixed blessings

I've got some good news and some bad news...
First, the good news: My plants are coming up!
Now, the bad: After 6 days, the only plants that are up are from a $1.95
packet of 10 I bought at the local garden center.
I bought the cheap seeds to practice sanding seeds. After sanding them I
thought, "What the heck?" and put them in pots. Those seeds were
considerably smaller than the "good" ones -- would that make a
difference? I've kept the room temp around 90 degrees and the soil
around 83. I've kept the soil moist but not wet. I think I've done
things right. The premium seeds I bought just seem to be a tad slow. In
fairness, though, my Zehr 1061 looks like it is pushing up the top of
the pot and may be ready to erupt.
Well, whatever happens, I'm going to be putting things in the ground by
the end of this weekend.
