I had the same problem 2 years ago.  Ordered Dill's Atlantic Giant seeds from a popular seed catalog.  The first batch never even came up.  Called the seed company and they replaced them, and the second batch came up rather well.  They didnt hesitate at all when I said the seeds didnt come up...never asked when I planted them or what I did, so I have a feeling they knew there was a bad batch out there.  Maybe thats what you got too.

Of course, now we know better thanks to these lists, and we get seeds from generous people here, which do MUCH better.  ( Although I have to admit that for Dills AG seeds purchased from a catalog they did rather well.  We got a 260# pumpkin out of the batch, which was not bad for a first-time grower.)
