Did these vine splits effect the growth of your pumpkins as
I have had some of mine split while still in pots. Too much fertilizer
I planted them deep covering over the split's. Should I just
throw them away and start over again or will they still grow OK.
Your comments would be appreciated.

Bill,
No need to fertilize seedlings in the pot....usually gets you in trouble
anyway. Get them up quick and out in two weeks or less. Water young seedlings
in with starter fertilizer upon transplant. Just transplanted 168 prizewinner
seedlings today.....plants were 2 weeks old from planting the
seeds........greenist things you'll ever want to see.......without a drop of
fertilizer.
