On Friday I dug up a plant at 3 leaf stage roots were about 5" long. Took
about a handful of dirt with them and put in a plastic bag. Added water to
bag and with elastics tied bag up around the stem. Doubled bag up again
with elastics. Placed in a box. Covered box and put in a closet. No
sunlight for 2.7 days. Today I replanted the very healthy but just a little
lime green plant. Hard to tell the difference between this one and the
other two growing beside it. Will post transplant results next week.
So the results, so far, are that we could mail plants within country bounds
to help new growers. If need be. Weight would be less than a pound. Plan
for shipment would be in half a pizza box with root bag tied to the box
with leaves folded in.
Does anyone need a plant??? I'll mail you one. Now regular mail will take
longer but who cares? It's cheaper and it would be interesting to see if it
could survive the longer brutal trip.
We try everything here in Spencerville.
Bob Marcellus.
