I purchased seeds from P & P. My 1061 Zehr is up with one true leaf. The
only other P & P seed that sprouted was a generic "800+ pound" seed. I
planted three of those and two failed to germinate. The generic "700 -
799" seeds (5 of them) all failed to germinate. The packet of AG seeds I
bought at the local garden center all germinated and are growing, each
with one true leaf and all mocking me.
All the seeds were treated to the same environmental conditions: 83
degree soil (heated from beneath), 90 degree air, moist soil. The only
difference is that some of the seeds were sanded and some were not.
I opened one of the seeds that failed and found a white goo, almost the
consistency of Elmers glue. It also smelled horribly. I haven't opened
the other seeds, yet. I suspect they will yield the same results.
We are having cool, rainy days here in the knuckle of Michigan's Thumb.
I wish I had found out about the orange tee-shirt tip before setting my
plants outside. If I get and wear 2, will there be a retroactive effect?
