Just an envious note to all who have great big hulks of plants to ask you
to please spare a thought for those of us who are just delighted to have
pumpkins growing at all. My 6 babies have 5 or 6 leaves each the biggest of
which is about 7inches across. Still I know mine are the biggest in our
village because noone else even tries here in Northern Ireland. Any
pumpkins are imported by large supermarkets the week before Halloween. Good
luck to all who are trying for a real big one and please keep posting
useful advice which those of us in colder wetter climates can adapt.
