have your soil tested and check the potassium level
new england soil is particularly susceptible to swings in k+ levels.
If that's the case you need to add 0-0-60 fertilizer(relatively pure
urea)
to raise the K.
Epsom salts also may be needed. (Magnesium Sulfate) Test your
soil...NOW!
