Re: Misters


Unless you can afford shade cloth, ( the kind nurseries use ) Misters are the
way to go. If you live inland, you shouldn't have too much problem with mildew
if you mist during the heat of the day. Allow the leaves and soil to dry by
evening. If you can afford to put them up high, ( like 8' off the ground ) you
can point them down like an overhead system in a green house. Otherwise, most of
us just use pvc pipe just high enough to get them above the leaf canopy and
point them up or out horizontally. Their are several types of misters or mini
sprinklers out their, buy a few different types initially and experiment with
them as far as coverage and volume to see what looks best to you. You don't
necessarily want to drench everything, just cool the air above.
