Re: sprinklers

That seed is a generic store bought seed from gurney and was a true
nightmare when I cut it open. on every rib it had a matching rib on the
inside that was "CRACKED" HARD and almost wormlike in appearance It had an
opposing ring that ran the circumference across the ribs and it was also in
the same appearance. It actually weighed 20 lbs light and was really thin
walled in compareson to my 200lb and my 231 squash.
Now to my measurement...I tried the Leonard Stellpflug's
method, and the Howard Dill's method but I simply used a method that was
refered to me by a gentleman on the list and his pine nut pioneer web sight.
It has a callibration scale and if it wasn't for the odd growth of this
strange pumpkin would had been closer to accurate my other two were within a
LB. The true scale of the weight was at Captain Kids A local fish Market that
has an International Game Fish Association Scale that has weighed world
record fish for "Official Weight" up to 998 Lbs (mako shark).
So it is an UOW to pumpkin standards but with over 20 witnesses if I had
caught it on a fishing rod it would be a new world record for 20 LB test HA
HA HA.
I have not developed the photos but it was medium orange and totally
"littered" with canteloping, almost what you would call round and had huge
robust ribs. The plant had a stem diameter of 11 1/2 inches and the primary
and secondary were over 30 feet long closer to 40.
Knowing what I know now I would "never" try to grow this pumpkin again. I
am totally sure it would had gone well over 400 or 500 lbs but I am sure
would had cracked under its own weight.
Hope that helps you a little I have about 200 seeds left and if you
would like to grow it as a goof let me know!!!!!
