Yes,
It can be!
The only problem is though the microbes that break it down steal allot of
nitrogen from your soil. The local soil yards "treat" there sawdust with
nitrogen rich amendments like nitro humis.(or however it is spelt)
So add it but check your soil and add what is needed to correct the
changes.
