Yes Deb:
I agree, they should be proud of themselves, they have achieved a great
accomplishment regardless of the vegetable they have grown.
The problem seems to be that a variance exists within the pumpkin world
re Orange Pumpkin, Green Squash and in between Squmpkin.
I believe( can be questioned) that a pumpkin with squash background tend's to
weigh heavy.
True orange pumpkin tend's to weigh light.
So if you are growing these fruit for competition, its in you best interest to grow
a Squmpkin. But    ARE THEY a  PUMPKIN or a  SQUASH    which is the only two classes
to enter.        THAT IS THE QUESTION ORIGINALLY ASKED
