The pumpkin goddesses have finally been gutted and the
last remnants of their physical forms lay rotting in
the patch. The seeds of their immortality are drying
on my bedroom floor. I will be mailing them out in
about two weeks.
The season has ended with a sweet ironic flourish. A
neighbor transformed Hera into 200 pounds of pumpkin
candy. Proud Hera with her foul disposition is now
sweet to the taste and a pleasure to small children.
The great pumpkin adventure of 2000 is complete and it
couldn't have been better. The last chapter of the
