Re: Top 100 versus 1000
I just wanted to add to this thread that the feeling
of one's name appearing on a top 1000 all-world(?) list was *really*
great, no matter where you placed. Having your name in lights and
knowing how you did was a good feeling, quite amusing, and a great
conversation piece with the relatives and friends that I wound up with the
801st biggest pumpkin IN THE WHOLE WORLD in 1999. Hey, at
least there were 221 other fruit below me! :-)
My 2000 fruit was almost twice as big, and I often wonder how I improved
in the standings. I really appreciate Duncan's efforts, and will miss this
top 1000 list.
Perhaps there's a way to automate the list creation, or make the data
available to someone else who would still want to do it.
