Just wanted to respond to the list here. I have enjoyed all the valuable information leading up to and through by my first year of AG growing. Would have done better had those (&^%$%&*) groundhogs not eaten off my main vine twice. Heck, I trapped about a ten of them, but they still got the better of me. Thing is, I think I trapped the dumb ones, now I've only improved the species, and the ones still there are smarter then I am.
Go figure, I ignored my one apple tree, a red delicious. I think I sprayed that apple tree one time, and pampered my pumpkin plants all summer long, fertilizer, water, fish emulsion, kelp, seaweed, love, kisses, bedtime stories, even made popcorn and watched a Webster video with it, (nah, not really, ok, will stop now). Thing is, I got apples bigger than grapefruit , ,yes, lots of them, and spotless too. Next year I'm gonna try to pollinate my female pumpkin flower with one of these apple blossoms, get a red one and keep it till Christmas. Maybe I can sell it to Santa Claus on E-Bay and he can upgrade Rudolph's nose. I know, maybe my boss will let me load it on a flatcar, put lights on it, and make it an attraction on our Christmas train. Whew, think I drank too much coffee this morning.
Anyhow, I did get a 311#er this year, and it had a few hundred of nice big seeds in it Seeds are drying now, and should be ready next week sometime. Cross is from a 701.5 Welty x 771.6 Rockwell.
Sending out a SASBP out next week to you Glenn with some of these, dont forget some of those squash seeds. Always in the market to swap with anyone and add to my collection here. If anyone is interested, please Email me Privately. Thanks.
