We had this discussion on selfing before and alot of the same responses are
the same. Kinda redundant. The PNW seminar had experts in the field and
they said that there was little digression in cucurbita that good enough for
me. But I repeat what I said earlier.

What I was talking about is a "selfing program like no other" what The hek
would happen If you planted a mother seed that had been selfed and selfed
the mother back into it. Sounds like a great experiment for some young
college growers.....would you get instant results the next year??.......as
compared to other long and drawn out selfing and selection. Is the reason
seed companies don't do it because it doesn't work or is it not cost
effective as they need bulk seed..............the answer is we don't know
but sure sounds promising and exciting...MB
