If you flood irrigate try growing the pumpkin right on a pallet to get it off the ground, Laugh will you?? it worked quite well for a grower in Salinas !!! I suggest you try sprinklers on three foot stands through out the patch that is what I tried and it worked wonders keeping everything evenly moist I had a CHEAP inline feeder so all the fertilizer was evenly distributed exactly where the water was since they were one in themselves.. Just a note of interest !!! Take care and grow em BIG !!!!
