Why are Pumpkins Orange?

Pumpkins are orange because:
God has a sense of humor.
Nothing rhymes with orange, or with pumpkin.
Pumpkins are nutritious, especially high in vitamin A.
It makes them look like the happy faces they look out on.
Orange and round just go together: pumpkins, oranges and tangerines,
harvest moons, kumquats, the sun just before it touches the horizon.
They are all the caution light you need in the traffic-free environment
of your pumpkin patch.
