Pumpkins in NZ
Hi Team
I am not growing a pumpkin this year for many and varied personal reasons.
Mostly I am away to UK and Europe for a few months later in the year and I
also need a rest - as does the soil as I have to virtually grow in the same
patch each year. I have put is strawberries instead and now enjoy 'grazing'
beautifull big organic berries in the early summer sun.
We are having a wet but warm start to the summer.
We are still doing the 'Great Pumpkin Grow' and have handed out about 60
packets of seed so far. A lot from you good people and we know that a lot of
people are saving their own seeds from previous years.
This will all culminate on the Great Pumpkin Festival on the first Sunday of
April. Our recreation people are looking at a special focus on the festival
tis year. We do five festivals a year and each year one gets a 'special
turn'.
Gotta go, busy day at work but before I do I wish you all a safe and happy
Christmas and holiday season.
John Sargeant in NZ.
