Beth - could you post this for me please
Today's gray day was made even sadder by the news I received that Barbara
Kincaid, who I knew as one of the original members of the Southern Pumpkin
Growers Association, a contributing writer for Southern Pumpkin Magazine, as
well as a great civic minded AG grower and a good trustful friend, had died
Wednesday, November 28th, after battling frail health for many years.
She worked hard not only to grow her Atlantic Giants but also to spread
the word about the marvelous good will that emanates where ever this sport
flourishes. She worked with the local 4H Club to introduce them to
competitive pumpkin growing and, when it came to her own pumpkins, always
managed a personal best from year to year. I will always remember her as
having a tremendous spirit, one that kept her going when many would have
given up. I would like to give Mike Kincaid my sincere condolences for his
loss, our loss, of a great friend and fellow pumpkin grower.
Mike - our prayers are with you.
