This is an open letter to all those who have requested seed from my 953 pound
pumpkin.

I opened the pumpkin 2 days ago and found more than 75% of the seeds fully
germinated with leaves and stems developed. Those that I retrieved have been
dried next to an old wood stove I've used for 25 years to heat part of my
home.

It does not look good. In a random sampling of about 1/4 of the seeds, I have
found only one or two that are not brittle and fulll of air. I suspect that I
may get a few to germinate, but I consider that a real longshot.

I am so sorry, that for those of you who have requested seeds or sent bubble
packs, that I will have none to give to you.

I was very proud of the 953 because of its shape, color, and particularly,
its height.

More than that, I was proud that you asked for seeds from it...

and I am so sorry that there will be none to give.

Best wishes,

Don Langevin
