Re: Extracting seeds

When is the best time to extract seeds from the pumpkin.?
Well, here is one silly data point... don't wait until
you're stone cold outside. We've been in the single
digits in the mornings for about a week. Went outside
to work on the AG on my porch. Its frozen solid. I
could probably open it with a wood splitter/maul, but
on my porch, I'm just not in the mood.

I've also noticed that the AGs get redder the more
frozen they become, or that is the cumulative effect
of repeated freezes causes the color to get progressively
more red.

Dear Veteran Growers,
When is the best time to extract seeds from the pumpkin. It has set out
since last of Sept. Pumpkins are in good shape still but I'm getting a
little antsy about wanting to get the seeds out. The temp. has been in the
30s at night and 50s in the day. Need some advice.
