The "609 Whynot 94" was grown by Dennis Whynot of Brooklyn,Nova Scotia and
placed as the #9 pumpkin at the Windsor Pumpkin Festival that year.
It was not a squash as your message indicates above.I recall tracing the
ancestory of the 609 a number of years ago and have sent the results to Mike
Nepereny for the AGGC.
Mr Whynot is now a "retired" grower,I believe.If you want to search
further,take note that there are several,perhaps three,villages named
Brooklyn in Nova Scotia.
Also there are likely a few NS growers reading this that may be able to help
you contact Dennis Whynot.I would be interested to hear about any new AG
history you uncover.
