October.  The only thing I would need to do help mimic the northern days is to set 
up some artificial light source.  
As I recall, some years ago, Wayne Hackney, had the "brilliant" idea of 
lighting his pumpkin patch so that he would hopefully get a bigger plant and a 
bigger pumpkin. Although he was realizing that the additional lighting was not 
helping, the experiment was never completed. Someone stole his lights.
