Just Curious,
Are there any pumpkin growers out there in Israel (or elsewhere in the Middle East)? I know that Israelis grow some beautiful watermelons and all sorts of other produce (despite the scarcity of water in much of the region). So, I thought, why not pumpkins? I wonder what kinds of growing challenges they would face in that climate.
The last time I was there, I had a nice pasta dish in a Jerusalem restaurant with a creamy pumpkin sauce. So, I assume that pumpkins are grown there (although, who knows, it could have been some kind of squash). But, what about giants?
Marc
P.S. I have a friend going to China soon. Any successful AG growers there? Maybe he can smuggle me back some unique genetics :-)
