Hi all,
I'm posting to you all to ask for your help, for our new and fledgling organization, with seed donations, and funds to help launch the new Southern Pumpkin Growers Association.
As you know, the Southeast region of the United States is a very large geographical area. Unlike many of the other growers organizations out there that are confined to either a single state, or a well-defined and centralized region, our group has been primarily created for, and available to the Southern growers of 14 states, although anyone is welcome and encouraged to join us.
To communicate with each other, conduct business, raise organizational funds, and provide quality information on AG growing with informative articles for the entire giant pumpkin growing community, the SPGA needs a quality website. This website would not only act as our portal for it's members, but be accessible to all growers as well with services for the pumpkin community at large. My hope is that SPGA not only have a "home", but that we also provide a premier website that will have non-member accessible services, quality up-to-date information and articles, and abilities and options to grow and expand to help meet the varied needs of the entire pumpkin community. I have many ideas for our portal, and my hope is that we can create a website we *all* can use.
We currently own the domain name, www.southernpumpkins.com, and have server space for hosting. We have tenatively contracted with a highly experienced website creator who is also an avid AG grower. But, we need funds to get started on our feet to launch, grow and expand. So I ask for your help and monetary donations toward that cause. Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.
The SPGA has also tenatively planned to conduct an online seed auction or raffle through our website, should we be successful in aquiring the donated funds to launch it. My hope is that we could not only raise enough capital for the group to conduct a potential 2005 patch tour, and have our own weigh-off for Southern growers, but also to make some top quality seed that might have been previously unattainable..attainable at affordable rates.
Seed donations are needed and would be most appreciated.
If you can help with either a small monetary donation to the SPGA website fund, or seed for our auction/raffle, please contact me as soon as possible.
Regards and best wishes to all.
Yours in pumpkins,
Kyle Little
